Applicable scenarios : small and medium-sized reptile boxes (30-120cm), suitable for desert types (such as bearded dragons and tortoises), tropical types (such as chameleons), and nocturnal reptiles (such as ball pythons).
Technical requirements:
Accurate spectrum: UVB peak 310nm, UVA peak 370nm, simulating natural sunlight.
Adjustable intensity: UVB UVI 0.5-8, UVA 0.2-1 mW /cm², suitable for a variety of species.
High efficiency and energy saving: LED light sources save 50% energy compared to traditional fluorescent lamps and extend their lifespan by 2-3 times .
Safety Compliance : Meets IEC 62471 photobiological safety standards, UV leakage <0.1 mW /cm².
Environmental protection: mercury-free, no harmful gases, compliant with RoHS and CE certification.
2. Spectral parameters
2.1 UVB LED
Wavelength: 290-320nm
Peak: 310nm ± 5nm (optimal vitamin D3 synthesis wavelength).
Spectral distribution: 85% of the energy is between 295-315nm.
Spectral purity: Full width at half maximum (FWHM) <15nm.
Recommended light source: Yuanjing Optoelectronics JY-Z 3535 UVB/ 310

2.2 UVA LED
Wavelength: 350-400nm
Peak: 370nm ± 10nm (optimized for reptile vision and behavior).
Spectral distribution: 50% energy at 360-380nm, 40% at 380-400nm.
Spectral purity: Full width at half maximum (FWHM) <20nm.
Recommended light source: Yuanjing Optoelectronics JY-Z2835UVA/365
3. Strength Configuration
3.1 UVB intensity
Unit of measurement: UV Index (UVI), based on CIE Photobiologically Weighted Irradiance (280-315nm).
Requirements (refer to Ferguson Zone classification):
Desert type (such as bearded dragons and Sulcata tortoises): UVI 4-8, 15-20cm distance.
Tropical types (such as green iguanas and Emeishan snakes): UVI 2-4, 20-30cm distance.
Nocturnal (such as leopard geckos and ball pythons): UVI 0.5-2, 30-40cm distance.
calculate:
UVI = E_eff / 40, E_eff ( mW /m²) = ∫(280-315nm) E(λ) * S(λ) dλ.
Example: UVI 6 requires E_eff ≈ 240 mW /m² ( 0.024 mW /cm² @ 15cm).
Configuration:
5 UVB LEDs (total power 5W), 60° focusing lens (transmittance > 95%)
Coverage: 30cm diameter basking spot , UVI 4-8 @ 15cm, UVI 2-4 @ 30cm.
PWM dimming: 0-100% power, UVI range 0.5-8, step 0.1.
Degradation considerations: Initial output is set to 120% of the target UVI to compensate for 8000 hours of degradation (<20%).
3.2 UVA intensity
Unit of measurement: irradiance ( mW /cm²).
need:
Desert/Tropical: 0.5-1 mW /cm², 15-30cm distance.
Nocturnal: 0.2-0.5 mW /cm², 30-40cm distance.
Configuration:
7 UVA LEDs (total power 3.5W), 120° wide angle, covering a 50cm diameter active area.
4. Species Adaptation
Desert type (such as bearded dragons and sulcata tortoises):
UVB: UVI 4-8, 15-20cm, 12-14 hours of light.
UVA: 0.8-1 mW /cm².
Configuration: 5 UVB LEDs (80-100% power), 7 UVA LEDs (80% power).
Tropical type (such as green iguana , Emeishan snake):
UVB: UVI 2-4, 20-30cm, 10-12 hours of light.
UVA: 0.5-0.8 mW /cm².
Configuration: 4 UVB LEDs (50% power), 6 UVA LEDs (60% power).
Nocturnal (e.g. leopard geckos, ball pythons):
UVB: UVI 0.5-2, 30-40cm, 8-10 hours of light (optional).
UVA: 0.2-0.5 mW /cm².
Configuration: 3 UVB LEDs (20% power), 4 UVA LEDs (30% power).
5. Technical Points
Light source layout:
Array: Hexagonal arrangement, 5 UVB LEDs in the center (2cm spacing), 7 UVA LEDs in the periphery (1.5cm spacing).
Size: diameter 10cm, thickness 2cm (excluding heat sink).
life:
UVB LED: 10,000 hours (attenuation <30%, recommended replacement every 12 months).
UVA LED: 15,000 hours (degradation <10%).
6. Advantages and Applications
