It was excruciating to watch at times, but after a torrid midweek defeat to St Johnstone, it was a must-win game for Rangers against Hamilton on Saturday. Paixao had an excellent chance early in the first-half and he should have scored after Simon Mensing picked him out but he hit the side netting. Paixao again had an Ed Reed Jersey excellent chance when Dougie Imrie set him up for a chipped effort that McGregor brilliantly clawed away from the net.In the second-half, Steven Davis was more involved and that meant more chances for the home side. Firstly, David Weir mi sed a good chance at the back post and then Kenny Miller mi sed an absolute sitter from the edge of the six-yard box. Davis then had a great chance of his own when he nipped in ahead of McLaughlin and was one-on-one with the Czech keeper Tomas Cerny, but the Hamilton stopper came out on top with a fine block. Nacho Novo also had a one-on-one effort with Cerny but the Spaniard hesitated as the ball dropped from the air which allowed Cerny to make himself Jimmy Graham Jersey big and make another important block.Hamilton then had a good spell in the game and had a fine goal ruled out for offside, but TV pictures show James McArthur was onside to Billy Reids disgust.
